This cherished event, hosted by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has been kicking off the holiday season in Howell for nearly 40 years, and itâs the perfect way to get into the spirit with family, friends, and the entire community.
đ Fantasy 5K & 1-Mile Family Fun Walk
The evening begins with the Fantasy 5K at 6 PMâa race unlike any other! The course winds through historic downtown Howell along Grand River Avenue, following the same route as the upcoming parade. Runners and walkers are encouraged to wear their most festive holiday costumes, from Santa hats to reindeer antlers and even holiday lights! Itâs truly a sight to see as the participants, decked out in holiday cheer, race in front of a cheering crowd.
Costume Contest: Show off your holiday spirit! A Fantasy 5K Costume Contest will be held at 5:15 PM with awards for the best-dressed adults and youth. Winners will be announced at 5:45 PMâso if you’re feeling creative, this is your chance to shine!
Whether youâre aiming to set a personal record or just out to enjoy the fun, this race is a fantastic way to kick off the evening, and the energy from the crowd cheering along Grand River makes it extra special. At 7 PM, the real holiday magic begins with the Fantasy of Lights Parade.
