At SMP Business and Tax Services, we believe in celebrating all our team members—especially those with four legs and a tail! This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Collin, our delightful office dog, who has earned the title of Employee of the Month.
A Rough Start with a Heartwarming Twist
Born on January 20, 2014, Collin’s journey to our office was anything but easy. Though we can only imagine his early days, we’re fairly certain he faced some tough times. Collin spent the first six months of his life at Serenity Animal Hospital, where he quickly learned that a little mischief (like pooping right after being put in his crate) could earn him some extra attention. It’s a trick he still pulls today when Grandpa denies him a spot in the bed!
A Perfect Match
In December 2014, Collin and his human found each other. Despite the shelter’s attempts to pair him with another dog, it was clear from the start that Collin had chosen Sarah. Their bond was sealed when Collin jumped onto her lap, nibbled on her nose, and left a small puddle of affection on his leg. From that moment, they knew they were meant to be together.
Collin’s Quirks and Charms
Collin is not just any office dog—he’s a character with a big personality. He absolutely loves food and has a particular fondness for watermelon and cheese. Be careful with that apple, though—if you don’t share a slice, he might just hold a grudge!
Car rides are another of Collin’s passions, but he has his limits. He adores cruising in the Jeep with the top off, as long as the speed stays below 25 mph. Other car rides are fine too, provided you don’t exceed 45 mph. Just don’t make the mistake of taking him through a car wash—Collin has standards, after all.
A Heart of Gold
But what truly sets Collin apart is his compassionate nature. If he accidentally makes you bleed, he’ll be the first to alert you, and if you’re feeling under the weather, he’ll offer his “Puggle Power” to lift your spirits. Collin’s boundless energy and loving heart make him a cherished member of our team, and we can’t imagine the office without him.
The Office Charmer
Collin’s visits to the vet are a highlight for everyone involved. He greets the staff with such enthusiasm that they can’t help but laugh. He knows his toys by name and will tirelessly search until he finds the one he’s looking for, showing off his playful and determined spirit.
From City Slicker to Country Gent
Though Collin started as a city dog, he’s embraced the country life with open paws. Whether he’s barking at the TV to defend the house from on-screen dogs or grumbling about delivery drivers, Collin is a true character with a lot of love to give.
As we celebrate Collin’s contributions to our office, we’re reminded that sometimes, the best team members are the ones who offer a wagging tail, a comforting presence, and a whole lot of love. Here’s to Collin, our Employee of the Month—he’s more than just a pet; he’s family.
